Zanzibar and Covid-19
From June 2020, Zanzibar has opened its borders to all travellers, enabling Mahali to welcome you back.
Fully vaccinated travellers are exempted from any test requirements. Travellers have to present a valid vaccination certificate with QR code upon arrival to Zanzibar.
If you are not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated you have to present a negative RT-PCR test certificate with QR code using a sample collected within 72 hours before departure.
All travelers arriving from countries listed here shall be subjected to rapid test at Point of Entry at a cost of USD 25.
A negative COVID-19 test result on departure from Zanzibar is not needed by travellers unless required by the airline or country of destination.

How is zanzibar?
On Zanzibar everything is back to normal again. The tourists are back. It’s not as busy yet as normal, but you are more than welcome to explore Zanzibar.
We know for sure KLM (direct flights), Ethiopian Airlines and Qatar Airways have resumed their flights to Tanzania/Zanzibar.
